Support Your Kindle Developers

28 Mar

As scary as it is, it has come to my attention that people are actually reading this blog ;)  I know this because I’m starting to see announcements from Kindle developers asking me to mention their new releases.  Having said that I want to let all the readers know that they can support these teams beyond just purchasing the apps.

Please review the apps on Amazon’s site if you like what you’ve purchased.  If you don’t like it, review the titles honestly and give intelligent feedback.   Reviews that just say “This sucks” or “I’m giving this one star because it’s not available in XYZ country” don’t help these teams.  The latter actually hurts them.  Amazon dictates when the apps are available in specific territories, not the developers.  Many of these teams are small studios and they WILL respond to feedback.  A few respond directly to the consumers and virtually all of the small studios have and will go back and update their apps if they see the community asking for a feature.  Reviews (good or bad) that are intelligently written and accurate are what these teams want to see.

Do them a favor, support them with your feedback as well as your dollars.
