Yahtzee: Main Takeaways
Yahtzee is the classic dice game for Kindle, with several variations for fun hours of electronic play. Choose from Classic, Duplicate, or Battle mode, and then decide if you are playing solo or Pass-n-play with up to 3 additional players. All these options mean that there is fun for all styles of players.
I started out playing in classic mode, and had quite a bit of fun. The rules are the same as in the traditional board game version, with the extra help of the computer doing the math for you and letting you see just how many points you would score in each category before you place your roll. The controls are very simple and it’s very easy to play.
As you progress through the game, you can see your score add up and see if you are earning any bonus points, plus see your overall score. For a score over 300, you are congratulated. Score below 300 you are told well done, and to try again.
Yahtzee: Conclusion and Overall Rating
I had a lot of fun with Yahtzee. It was everything I remembered from playing with my family as a child, but in a nice compact form and no math required. I’ll give Yahtzee a 4.5 star rating, and my only suggestion would be to add in more keyboard shortcuts in future updates to allow moving between the dice and scorecard easier.
